2026 Arizona Voter Guide
For four years, gun safety in Arizona has come down to a veto pen. Governor Katie Hobbs has blocked dangerous bills that would put guns on college campuses and decriminalize silencers. But a veto can only stop bad bills, and a new gun-sense majority is required to pass good ones.
This November, every seat in the Arizona legislature is up. It takes three seats to flip the state Senate and four to flip the state House, and Democrats have not held both chambers and the governor’s office at the same time since 1966. The work we do between now and Election Day is critical — and Moms Demand Action volunteers are leading the charge.
Our volunteers are running in some of the most competitive districts that will decide control of both chambers. With gun-sense majorities in the state House and Senate and Governor Hobbs in office, Arizona can finally go on offense: cracking down on the gun trafficking that funnels guns into Arizona communities, requiring background checks on all gun sales, passing secure firearm storage laws to keep guns out of the hands of children, and giving families and law enforcement a way to act before a crisis turns deadly.
Arizona is also central to flipping the U.S. House. Marine Corps veteran and Moms Demand Action volunteer JoAnna Mendoza is running in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District, one of the most competitive races in the country. Her victory will help put a check on an administration that has spent the last year gutting ATF, rearming domestic abusers and violent criminals, and shredding federal gun safety laws — all while the MAGA majority in Congress did nothing to stop them.
